Meditations 21 Days
DAY 1
LOVE
"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." John 15:12.
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." Matthew 5:44
God says: “You cannot love Me without loving the ones for whom My Son died. That is an impossibility.” Love God, yourself, and others. "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples (followers, students), if ye have love one to another." John 13:34-35.
To really love requires intimacy with Father God. Only a true relationship with God can provide a changed heart and a heavenly vision. A pure heart and pure mind are required to be effective in prayer and intercession. Intercession is love in action; love for others.
Love------->Live it!
Jesus continuously prayed.
Let us pray:
Father,
Help us pray for ourselves and intercede (pray) for others. Help us to be the disciples You have called us to be.
Help us truly LOVE!
Thank You!
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen!
DAY 2
RELAX
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
Who knows the Mind of God? Let God guide us into His plans.
Don't struggle. We are the sheep of His pasture. Praise Him. Praise produces a peaceful spirit. Jesus is our Shepherd. He watches over us day and night; He knows what's best for us and the plans He has for us. Fear not for He is the Almighty God, the Trinity: our Father, our Savior, our Comforter.
Relax! Rest in God. Trying circumstances are the tricks of the enemy/the devil to stress us, make us loose hope, and keep us from focusing on the real battle and strategic plans God has for our lives.
As Joseph said in Genesis 50:20 "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." (NIV)
Let us pray:
Father,
Let us patiently wait/relax in You; wait for Your plans and directions. Keep the faith and hope. Then walk out Your plans in humility, only proud to be Your children and used by You to Your glory and the deliverance of souls. Thank You!
In Jesus' Name.
Amen!
DAY 3
ONENESS
God is not just on our side, but we, who have the indwelling Holy Spirit, have God in us; Jesus said so.
"Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." St. John 14:17 & 20.
"And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following." Mark 16:15-18, 20
Let's allow our relationship with God to naturally flow, and let our relationship be enhanced by prayer and fasting; for we can do nothing of ourselves.
Let us pray:
Father,
Help us to dwell in the secret place with You. We want to know You and Your ways, that we may truly be the living epistles (examples) of Your love and grace, and confirming the word with miracles following.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 4
EXPECT
God is a Great God - expect much. Let's walk and talk like we belong to God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. We serve a Big GOD!
"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. ...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:15, 16b
Let us Pray:
You, Lord, made the beautiful sky, white clouds, trees, flowers, flowing waters, and grass. You, Father, have a time for everything; we must submit to Your way. A way that brings joy and peace.
Help us to take care of what You have given us, and not lust for more, but receive with gratitude our increases. You said that You will give us the desires of our hearts, if we seek You first; for our desires will be in line with Your perfect will. Let us not be stiffed-necked, but always prayerful and thankful. We believe that You have much to give to Your children; help us to wait for our abundant gifts.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 5
THE NECESSARY PREMISE
Almighty God, the King of kings, has something to say to us. Alleluia! Let's meditate on the Word (Bible), and pray.
God is real. Do His will. Let's not make up our own rules as we go along life. Listen to the Book (the Holy Word of God) and the Holy Spirit. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure." “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord." God is in charge!
Let us pray:
Thank You, Father, we are on a journey, and to make it home, we must follow Your lead. We are your children and You are faithful. Thank you that we do not have to guess at what to do; we can come to the Throne of Grace for guidance from You, the Almighty God. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit, Who guides us. Help us to seek You when pondering over any decision or action. You know what's best for us.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 6
FAITHFUL HEART
Joshua 5:8 " And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole." Holy Spirit Interpreted: Let God circumcise your heart. Then abide in Him and wait. Move out on your assignment after God has made you whole (complete, ready).
Not your strength - The STRENGTH OF GOD - Zechariah 4:6 "...Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." For we can do nothing of ourselves.
Let us pray:
Father,
Our souls say yes! We believe You! We patiently wait for Your direction!
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 7
ENCOURAGEMENT
God can take away emotional pain; even pains grounded from our childhood. "Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning." "And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm..." Joel 2:12 & 25
"For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13
"Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength." Isaiah 40:28 & 29
"...When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him." Isaiah 59:19
God has an individual plan for each of us. Amen. We must stay focused on who we are in Christ Jesus. We are the Beloved of God, His Solemn Oath. Our focus must be on the brethren and ourselves getting to God and heaven.
"And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel." Joshua 6:23 Through a repentant sinner, God saved many. Rahab sold out from all evil and appearance of evil to serve the living God with the people of God.
“My house shall be called the house of prayer.” Be encouraged, we are the temples (the houses) of the Holy Spirit, and; therefore, should pray without ceasing.
BE STILL! When our hearts are turned toward God, the Holy Spirit will give us the words to pray, and the Father will encourage our hearts as we pray and praise Him
Let us pray:
Father,
Let the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ pray through us right now!
DAY 8
HOPE = CONFIDENT EXPECTATION
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance; but as He which hath called you is Holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (living)." I Peter 1:13-15
Be Watchful! Hold on and wait! "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Revelation 16:15
Be Anxious For Nothing! Don't Worry! "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
God hears our prayers; hope, and wait confidently on Him.
Let us pray:
Father,
Our lives are in Your hands. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You saw that the earth was without form and in darkness, and You said: "Let there be light, and there was light."
What we expect from You is minor compared to all that You have already done. Help us to expect great things for ourselves and others.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 9
INTERCESSION
Those of us who are African-American believers, whose ancestors were brought to this country as slaves, have an obligation to minister to this nation. God, Himself, allowed our ancestors' cruel departure from Africa. "But all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, and are called according to His purpose." God has brought us out of slavery to serve Him and our fellow men and women of all races and creeds in this country and other countries. We are ordained in Jesus’ Name to make a difference, for we are disciples, fishers of men called by God.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-20
Intercede for America and other countries - God will bless a nation because of a faithful few. No intercessors = judgment.
"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God." Ezekiel 22:30-31
"And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, according he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense." Isaiah 59: 16-18.
Let us pray:
Father,
Give us minds and hearts to pray and cry out for ourselves and others!
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 10
FORGIVE
Don’t get caught up in personalities or circumstances. Forgive 70 x 70 times. See the big picture - Souls - Salvation through Jesus, the Christ. Look pass circumstances and attitudes and see souls needing to be saved.
Don't expect from others; expect from God, and let us give of ourselves. Look at the reality - souls need to be saved. Release others with forgiveness, that we may be free. Pray -Intercede - Seek God.
Offense allows the devil to play us like checkers on a checkerboard.
Help others with their reality of the sacrifice of Jesus {Jesus' sacrifice - the gift (redemption and forgiveness) the redemption and forgiveness that we have received}.
Let us pray:
Father,
Thank You for Your saving grace (unmerited favor)! The grace given to me and given to others. Help us all to forgive one another, and grow more and more like You.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 11
PATIENCE
Patiently wait! "Knowing this, that the trying (proving) of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect (thorough, complete) work, that ye may be perfect and entire (perfectly and fully developed), wanting nothing (lacking in nothing)." James 1:3-4
Wait patiently for true, Godly friendships. Evaluate friendships by what is going out and coming in to help spiritual growth. Friends do not help friends sin. Am I a friend? Are you a friend? We must cut away unholy friendships/temptations. Don't get in a hurry for relationships. Wait patiently; don't worry. Worry - is going to the world or yourself to figure things out, not relying on God to move on problems and conflicts in His time. “Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”.
Supplication = seeking in earnest prayer; beseeching; pleading; entreating.
Read and meditate on Philippians 4 and St. Luke 12:22-32,37,38
We need the help of God to patiently wait; we cannot do it in our own strength.
"And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise." Hebrews 6:15
Let us pray:
Father,
Give us the strength to pray without ceasing to receive Your guidance for the right relationships necessary to fulfill Your plans for our lives. Give us courage to patiently wait.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 12
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Lord, You are #1 in our lives!
Worship is for Who He is; praise is for what He has done.
Heaven is our Home!
Life on earth is about kingdom building.
Jesus is welcoming us home to Heaven.
Are you feeling disconnected from everyone (your family, husband, wife, children, classmates, associates, boss, coworkers, and/or friends)? That feeling is your spirit’s longing to be connected to God, our Creator. He only can satisfy the lonely, longing spirit. Seek Him in quiet and peace. Often we need to quietly sit still to hear the Voice of God Almighty. Psalm 91:1: "He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
Nothing of this earth is permanent; why worry about anything: a husband, wife, children. We can give our family members to our Father God to care for them. Why worry about houses, cars, luxuries, positions, fame, or fortune. God created the heavens and earth, He will provide for us. Only what you do for Christ will last.
God is our Joy; happiness can be found temporarily in persons or things. We can have Joy in the midst of the storm; happiness will flee before the storm or flee in the storm. Don't panic; Jesus is on the ship. “Jesus our refuge and our strength; a very present help in the time of sorrow”. God only is our source of everlasting joy!
Let us pray:
Father,
You will supply all our needs, as we acknowledge You as our source. You created heaven and earth. You provide for us; there is nothing too hard for You. Your love sustains us.
Thank You; in Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 13
GOD IS IN CONTROL
Why so much sin and corruption? --- We must pray so that God, Himself, will intervene when we see lawlessness and perversion taking over our country and our world. God is in Control.
"Peace is in obeying. Peace in obeying.", Author Unknown. Jesus said: "...men ought always to pray, and not to faint;.."Luke 18:1
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous." I John 5:3. His commandment not to worry is found in Matthew 6:25-30.
Sin has a snowball effect, and it can hurt from generation to generation. Only Jesus’ blood and our obedience can break the curses and snowball effects. God is in Control.
Some sinful strongholds are not obvious strongholds, for example: attitudes, the way we talk, look at, or respond to others, our initial perception of situations, etc. Dysfunctional families are families living with strongholds. “Let Jesus fix it”! Don’t worry about your children and other family members, our country or the world; give them to Jesus. God knows them better, and what they need. God is in control!
We are so focused on sin and other problems; causing us not to focuse on God. If we focus on God and our intimate relationship with Him, we will worry less. Worry is practicing unbelief. Know, believe, have faith, that God is in control.
Let us pray:
Father,
Glory to Your name. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. There is nothing too hard for You!
Thank You for being in control of all things; in Jesus Name.
Amen!
DAY 14
OBEDIENCE
Be about your Father's business. Obedience to God is the key to not being deceived.
"If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:" Isaiah 1:19
We can’t want something from God, and work it out our way. We must follow HIS word and HIS promptings.
And Jesus said unto them, "Come ye after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men". Mark 1:17
Mark 1:18 ...straightway
...forsook
...followed
Let us pray:
Father,
We empty out. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may be obedient to Your calling. Help us to obey You in all things, those that we consider small or large endeavors. You know the beginning and ending of all situations. Thank You!
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 15
COURAGE
Keep fighting. The battle is already won. Victory was settled at Calvary; we must claim it.
Pray for the courage to endure during your lifetime. “Everything to God in prayer.”
From my Mom: “Would you dare to be different [Chosen, Royal, Holy, Peculiar (God's own)]?"
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light." I Peter 2:9.
Become a water walker. Have the courage to step out of the boat!
Stand still; arrest your thoughts! Stop struggling! Christ said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Amen! Our victory is in Jesus. Full victory and deliverance given at the Cross. Alleluia!
But our hearts must be right! Religious activity, long skirts, and solemn faces do not move God. God desires “a broken (HUMBLE) spirit: a broken and a contrite (REPENTANT) heart”. If we humble ourselves, our Father will give us His courage.
and
Let us have the courage to put our teenagers and young adults in God's Hands.
The teen years are difficult. Many people brush off how teens feel; they forget their vulnerability during their teen years. The teen years are a crucial time when the youth are transitioned from childhood to adulthood. Their emotions and hurts are out there like a child’s emotions and hurts, while their bodies are trying to develop. But our God is still in control.
Let us pray:
Father,
Give us and our children and our children's children the courage to run to the battle. We will step out on faith!
In Jesus' name
Amen!
DAY 16
WAIT
It’s time to “come up higher”.
Goals?------->Ask God!
Have vision --- Look to God.
Created for God’s pleasure. Alleluia!!!
Growth takes time. Judge not ourselves or others.
Don’t get in a hurry. Moses, Joseph, and David had a lot of alone time with God before their ultimate assignments.
We must go through purification before becoming kings.
Let us pray:
Father,
We wait for Your signal, Your guidance. Thank You!
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 17
POWER
P atience – Calmness
O bedience – Compliance with orders
W isdom – Intelligent use of knowledge
E ndurance – Withstanding; holding on
R ighteousness – Conformity to God’s will; right standing produced by the Holy Spirit and made possible by Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection.
"POWER"
Authority; Might; Control
Let us pray:
Father,
Thank You for power to live right; to be an example of Your love and influence. Thank You that You have given us power over all the power of the enemy.
In Jesus' name.
Amen!
DAY 18
ABIDE
When we abide in God, our actions, our speech, our prayers are God’s not ours. The Holy Spirit is directing and using His temples {saints (us)}. For we are nothing without Him.
"Be still, and know that I am God:... Psalm 46:10a. Don't panic, Jesus is on our ship!
Need help abiding? Pray! Wait on the Lord; march around Jericho until He acts.
Let us Pray:
Father,
As we abide in You, teach us to number our days; how to worship You; and how to help ourselves and others.
DAY 19
HUMILITY
Lowliness of heart and mind. Not overly proud. Let's not go about defending ourselves; let our lives speak for us as followers of Jesus, the Christ.
"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."
"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time." I Peter 5:5-6
Let us pray:
Father,
Help us patiently walk out Your plan in humility, only proud to be Your children and proud to be used by You for Your glory. Help us to die to self and follow You.
In Jesus' Name.
Amen!
DAY 20
MEEKNESS
Patience in the reception of injuries; does not seek revenge.
"...showing all meekness unto all men." For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared." Titus 3: 2b-4
Let us Pray:
Thank You Father!
In Jesus' Name.
Amen
DAY 21
LOVE
Ask The Father to deposit the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus in you to abide in you, that you may love as Jesus says love!
"This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.. Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you."
"These things I command you, that you love one another." John 15:12-14, 17
